Welcome to Series 8: Elemental, our new collection of vegan treasures here to bring the pleasure of cruelty free carry to your life. See what's new for Series 8.
Series 8 was conceptualised towards the end of 2020. That's how long these things take - to design, sample, wear test + sign off. We all know how tough 2020 was, and it's fair to say, bringing a collection to life without the benefit of being at the factory to work with our makers added to the degree of difficulty. We're thrilled to finally be here, launching our collection with a handful of new hero styles along with a fresh injection of colours + textures.
We introduce a palette inspired by nature, with shades of olive, beetroot, moss + wheat, with some new shapes + styles to fit your life. Our backpack offering has grown, and we've extended our cactus range to include a gorgeous, sandy neutral tone.
Firstly, what's not new?
Sans Beast aficionados know by now that a new collection from us doesn't mean throwing out all that came before + starting with a clean slate. We have a core range of classic shapes that return season after season, as we hope to build collections that will go the distance in your wardrobe.
We remain committed to recycled fabrics, with 42% of our collection made from recycled content, including recycled webbing in many of our bag straps. We also continue with the wonderful leather alternative by Desserto, which is a material utilising prickly pear cactus. You'll see the new tone of wheat come through in our Francisco Double Pouch Crossbody.
Now for the shiny, new treasures...
Series 8 introduces Beetroot, a dramatic, moody burgundy. This silken surface Eco PU is Global Recycled Standard certified, and looks gorgeous worn with dark tones, pastels + sandy neutrals.
Earthy greens of Olive + Moss are here - our Olive pebbled surface fabric is recycled Eco PU, also Global Recycled Standard certified. These moody greens are a versatile alternative to black + perfect for year round wear.
New Shapes
We're excited to introduce you to a handful of new shapes for Series 8.
The High Road Mini crossbody bag has an elongated shape + a generous interior, with space for your essentials plus a large front pocket that's designed for easy access to your phone. Our ethos + our offering is vegan through + through - but equally, making it stylish + collectable is our aim.
We've also extended the strap length to 140cm, allowing you to wear it longer on the body. As always, the strap is adjustable + detachable so you can swap it out for a feature bag strap for a different look.
The High Road Convertible Backpack is the supremo of versatility, with 2 detachable straps that allow you to wear it as a traditional fashion backpack, as a tote bag with single shoulder strap, or carry by the handle as a portrait style briefcase. It's an elevated look, with a faux lizard emboss + elongated shape.
It has three large compartments, including space for a 13 inch laptop (note, laptop dimensions can definitely vary - we've designed this to fit a 13 inch MacBook Pro.). There's plenty of space for a wallet, notebook, makeup, earbuds, slimline water bottle + more, so practicality is never sacrificed for good looks.
For a smaller option, we welcome the Long Lunch Backpack - it's petite in size + brings a polished look to carrying your daily essentials. It features the same gorgeous moulded handle + extended zip of our Long Lunch Mini Tote, so you can carry it as a traditional backpack, sling on one shoulder, or carry by the handle.
Accessories
The Revolution Wallet is the first new wallet we've had in the collection for some time. It's slimline + sleek, yet has room for your phone, credit cards along with notes + coins. The detachable wrist strap means you can wear this wallet as a clutch when you're travelling super light. You'll also see the Operative Wallet in a couple of seasonal tones - Beetroot + Moss.
Our friends at Cubed Studio shot the collection in between lockdowns in Melbourne, at a remote little beach, to capture a feeling of elemental joy amongst wind, water, sand + several families of seagulls. As lockdowns continue in Australia, we wanted to capture a mood of freedom + for us, this always equates to being in nature. We've got more to show you for Series 8 as the year progresses, stay tuned for some fresh new tones coming soon. We invite you to sign up to our mailing list + join our (cruelty free) revolution.
