The SB travel tips
1. Don't leave packing until last minute - that's where over packing + odd outfit choices happen. Make a list - tops/bottoms/shoes - lay everything out + ensure every item can be worn in multiple ways + multiple times on your trip. Don't pack all your bags to capacity - having overweight luggage at beginning of your trip is an excess baggage charge waiting to happen.
2. Roll your clothes. Fits better, leaves less creases.
3. Packing cubes are ideal for keeping a suitcase organised - strongly recommend having a set if you're travelling a lot.
4. Consider what adaptors, chargers, tech equipment you'll need - have a small pouch ready with these items in your carry-on in case phone dies on plane.
5. Shopping OS can be tempting but should be considered carefully - will you wear that batik / tie dyed / beaded sari head to toe again or are you just having an Eat Pray Love moment. The Abroad-robe can fill a suitcase + then sit dormant in your home closet for years to come.
6. Shoes - 3 pairs max. Comfort, versatility + if needed for your itinerary, something for event dressing.
7. Bags - we're going to take a few of course, but the shoe rule still applies. Adding extra bag straps brings versatility to your look.
8. Take a fabric sunhat so it rolls up, and take a mini umbrella - don't get caught needing to buy these on the road.
9. Choose local currency when paying with card - the conversion to your own currency can cost.
10. Phone theft is on the rise, don't look like a tourist studying your google maps in front of the Duomo. Stay alert, blend like a local wherever you are.
