THE CREATIVE JOURNAL

Sans Beast is gearing up for the festive season, planning vegan feasts + of course plenty of vegan bags on our gift lists.  Read more about what we're eating, supporting + gifting this year, along with details of our festive gift wrapping + the all important shipping timelines.

Once again we're approaching the festive season after months of lockdown, keen to celebrate with friends + family.  Rather than a frenzy of buying, we always recommend only buying what you - or someone else - will love, so we've put together our 2021 Gift Guide for those that need some help with ideas - or as a gentle prompt you can send to partners, parents + friends who may be at a loss to find the cruelty free treasures you seek.

There's something about the heralding of Summer in Australia that puts us in a festive, party mood.  There's also something about coming out of (another) pandemic lockdown that puts an extra spring in our step + gets us excited for socialising again.  Spring Racing often marks the beginning of 'events season' here in Melbourne, however, we believe there are better things to celebrate.  Getting through this year for one!  We've picked some of our favourite bags for hitting the proverbial d-floor, the virtual red carpet, the socially distanced restaurant + the glamorous backyard (vegan) BBQ.

Which backpack is right for you?  Whether you're carrying a laptop + work accoutrements, or looking for a polished, hands free receptacle for daily essentials, our backpack range has you covered.  Let us introduce you to Sans Beast's best vegan backpacks.  Stylish, functional + always cruelty free.

Our new collection Series 8: Elemental introduces a palette inspired by nature, with shades of olive, beetroot, moss + wheat.  Discover what's new - and what's not - at Sans Beast.
Series 7, Lost + Found, has landed. We created this concept mid 2020. Dreams of travel served as inspiration for the campaign story, a road trip to cactus fields + a nostalgic 1970's motel.
An overview of 2020 + the lessons learnt for Sans Beast, from the perspective of our founder Cathryn.  It's been one hell of a ride + we feel we've come out the other side wiser, braver + more resilient - ready for all 2021 has to throw at us.  One key lesson out of all of this has been to reaffirm our mission + recommit to the business of Sans Beast.  We can't wait to show you what we have in store for the year ahead + hope you'll continue on this journey with us.
Emma Hakansson has been a friend of Sans Beast, as well as an occasional face of the brand, since 'the beginning'.  She is a woman who wears many hats, and applies her talents + time, to making a difference in this life.  A passionate advocate for animals, a soon to be published author, a model + a content creator, Emma is someone who walks her talk.  We hope you'll enjoy reading about this inspiring creative creature.

We've been a fan of Karissa's style + authentic approach to telling her story, since day 1 of Sans Beast.  As Creative Director of fashion + lifestyle blog, Tomgirl + Threads, Karissa Sparke believes in a conscious lifestyle.  This involves plant based eating, slow living + treading lightly on our planet.  She's renowned for her effortless style, her travel + beach adventures - and her growing menagerie of furry friends, including Bean + more recently, the heavenly Peanut. We caught up with Karissa to talk life, inspiration + how an avid traveller has adjusted to living life in lockdown.

2020 has been tumultuous so far + Sans Beast has not been immune to the challenges.  As a niche, vegan handbag brand celebrating our second birthday in March, it was a rude awakening to follow the blowing out of the birthday candles with a new acronym + lifestyle - WFH.  However this post is not about doom + gloom, it's about celebrating creativity, getting excited about a new collection, recognising the power (and importance) of collaboration + enjoying the notion of blooming again.
Pam Ahern is the founder + owner of Edgar's Mission. A former equestrian champion, a chance encounter with a trotter named Edgar Alan Pig saw her give up her full time job + create a haven for farm animals which she built from the ground up. We caught up with her to talk about her incredible + inspiring journey.
Amanda Leigh Walker is the Co-founder + Head of Operations of vegan fast food institution, Lord of the Fries. She's also a life coach + teaches people how to recalibrate their power, lead with love, live authentically + with purpose. We caught up to discuss her journey from french fry mogul to spiritual healer.  We could all do with some healing right now - we hope you enjoy this conversation.  And for those who haven't tried the fries - we strongly encourage you to do so.  Everyone needs a salty potato treat to cheer up an iso day.
